VODG HR Directors' Professional Network Meeting December 2024

We are delighted that the next meeting of the HR Directors' professional network, taking place online, 5 December, 10.00 - 12.00, is now open for booking.

Our first speaker is Richard Canavan of BA Healthcare who will be providing a briefing on sponsor license management and immigration changes, including discussing the business case for overseas recruitment, what this means for services for disabled people, and how overseas recruitment has been affected by the recent change in government.

Following on from this, we will be joined by Honor Bouverie of the National Audit Office. NAO is currently collecting evidence from stakeholders as part of an audit of the Skilled Worker Visa system, including the inconsistencies of approach between health and care and how far changes have helped or hindered the situation of worker shortages. Honor is keen to hear about member experiences. She will kick-start the session with an overview of the audit's aims and will offer some talking points to facilitate what should be an insightful discussion on this topic.

Finally we will be joined by Trowers & Hamlins. First of all Vikki Cunliffe will provide a briefing on the legal issues relating to recruitment when posed with applicants requiring sponsorship / holding certain visas and the discrimination  risks, then Emma Burrows will give an update on employment law.

This agenda covers important topics for HR professionals in this sector, so please book your place today.
