Taking place on Thursday 18 March 2027, the VODG Directors’ Conference is a brand-new event that brings together directors and senior leaders from across the VODG membership.

Built around the theme Leading Beyond Boundaries, the conference recognises that while directors lead different functions, many of the challenges they face are shared. Financial sustainability, workforce pressures, digital transformation, commissioning, housing and organisational resilience increasingly require collaboration across disciplines rather than solutions developed in isolation.

Designed specifically for senior leaders in the voluntary sector, the conference will provide an opportunity to step away from day-to-day responsibilities, learn from peers, explore emerging issues and strengthen professional relationships across the VODG membership.

The day will feature:

• An opening plenary focused on the realities of leadership today, bringing together directors from across VODG's professional networks to share their experiences of navigating pressure, priorities and partnership.

• A programme of themed workshop sessions, covering key strategic issues including the National Care Service, workforce development, financial sustainability, housing, digital transformation, cyber resilience and the future of commissioning.

• Cross-network learning opportunities, designed to help delegates explore challenges through multiple perspectives and develop solutions that extend beyond individual functions.

• The Director Exchange: The Challenge I Can't Solve Alone, an interactive session where delegates will work together on real leadership challenges submitted by their peers, demonstrating the value of collective problem-solving.

• A closing plenary focused on the strengths of social care leadership, exploring what other sectors can learn from leaders who navigate complexity, build partnerships and deliver impact every day.
