Jewish Care

Jewish Care was formed in 1990 with the merger of two charities, to ensure we could provide the best care for our community along with the best value for money.

The services below are all now part of the Jewish Care family:

  • Jewish Welfare Board
  • Jewish Blind Society
  • Jewish Home and Hospital at Tottenham
  • Food for the Jewish Poor (Soup Kitchen)
  • British Tay-Sachs Foundation
  • Waverley Manor (Friends of the London Jewish Hospital) – which became Clore Manor
  • Stepney Jewish (Bnai Brith) Clubs and Settlements
  • Sinclair House – Redbridge Jewish Youth and Community Centre
  • Sunridge Court
  • JAMI (The Jewish Association For Mental Illness)

What is Jewish Care for?

Our purpose at Jewish Care is to deliver excellent care and community support services to the community that are Jewish at heart. We provide services either directly or we work with others.

We share and celebrate Jewish culture and values throughout our work. The Jewish values of care and respect for others run through all we do.

We will be distinguished by the Jewishness of the services we offer, and people will choose us because of this.

Our Purpose

We exist so that people in the Jewish community can lead better lives –
with dignity, purpose and connection – and receive the care and support they need at every stage of life.

Our Mission

We put our purpose into action by offering residential and community based services that support people to take control of their circumstances, make informed choices, manage their mental and physical health effectively, and feel connected and supported.

Our vision

A Jewish community in which everyone feels supported, connected and valued. Where growing older, living with illness or in times of hardship, can be faced with dignity and purpose.
