This session with the Department of Health and Social Care will focus on the FPA consultation and what it means for employees and employers, including organisations and individuals who directly employ staff.
The Fair Pay Agreement (FPA) for Adult Social Care aims to empower workers, unions, employers and other sector representatives to negotiate pay and terms and conditions. The Government hopes the FPA will help address the recruitment and retention crisis in the adult social care sector and support the continued delivery of high-quality care. Currently provisions are only for England, with different arrangements in place for Scotland and Wales.
We are expecting the FPA consultation to launch imminently, which will be seeking views on the FPA, who it applies to, how negotiations may work and enforcement.
Further information on the social care negotiating bodies and FPA can be found here. We will update this page once the consultation is published.
VODG members are invited to this spotlight event with the Department of Health and Social Care to find out more about the consultation, the proposals it sets out and key things to consider for your own response.
VODG will be responding to the consultation and will be inviting members to inform our messaging.
