VODG members are warmly invited to join us and the National Audit Office (NAO) on Thursday 27 July, 13.00 – 13.45, to discuss NAO's plans to publish a new report on social care in the autumn.

VODG Members are warmly invited to join us and the National Audit Office (NAO) on Thursday 27 July, 13.00 – 13.45, to discuss NAO's plans to publish a new report on social care in the autumn.

Before they wrap up their research, NAO would welcome views on the questions below.

  1. Pressures/challenges in the sector are well-rehearsed, but is there anything you would like to highlight from a provider perspective?

  2. Were providers generally bought in to the White Paper and ‘Next Steps’ paper in April this year?

  3. Has the funding injection at the Autumn Statement 2022 helped to put the sector on a more stable footing? Is it ready for reform?

  4. What do you see as the biggest risks to achieving government’s vision for Adult Social Care?

  5. Does DHSC understand the risks to the stability of the sector?

The meeting offers members the opportunity to hear from the NAO and directly influence their forthcoming report.

A reminder that the NAO cannot comment on the merits of a particular policy, only whether that policy is being delivered in a way that poses a risk to value for money (e.g. if the implementation of a policy is on course not to deliver what it set out to do).

We request that only one member per organisation attends, due to the limited time and broad range of topics to discuss. Please note, due to the short notice of this meeting, we are unable to provide individual one-to-one BSL interpretation support..
