Group One: This meeting is for participating organisations with staff numbers between 1 and 500*
These CEO‑only sessions provide a confidential, peer‑led space for members of VODG who have subscribed to the VODG central services benchmarking programme to reflect collectively on the findings and consider what they mean at an executive and strategic level.
Structured around organisational size (1–500 staff, 501–1,000 staff, and 1,001+ staff), each session brings together chief executives facing similar scale‑related opportunities and constraints. Headline benchmarking insights are used as a starting point for conversation, supporting shared sense‑making rather than comparison.
Discussion is open and exploratory, focusing on how central services are designed, resourced, and prioritised, and on the leadership judgements involved in balancing proportionality, assurance, cost, and organisational resilience. Participants are encouraged to share reflections on what is working well, where organisations feel stretched or exposed, and how strategic choices have evolved over time.
Discussions are confidential to those taking part, and insights generated will not be shared beyond the group. These sessions represent a collective next step following the benchmarking programme, enabling peers to learn from one another and to use the insight gained to inform future strategic decision‑making.
