Next Steps in Technology Enabled Care
Technology Enabled Care (TEC) is increasingly being recognised as a powerful way to enhance independence, wellbeing and quality of life for people who draw on support services. But what does it mean in practice, what opportunities does it create for providers, and how might it reshape the way we deliver care and support?
This meeting for IT and digital leaders from VODG member organisations will explore the growing role of Technology Enabled Care in services for disabled people. Through expert insight, practical examples and peer discussion, delegates will gain a better understanding of the TEC landscape, the benefits it can deliver for supported people and providers, and the considerations involved in implementing new approaches.
The session will begin with an overview of Technology Enabled Care, examining what it is, why it matters, and the positive impact it can have on people's lives.
We will then welcome Chris Zych and Jonathan White from Adaptive Care, alongside Timothea Berghuijs from CLB Group, to explore how technology is transforming overnight support, focusing on the real-world outcomes being achieved, including increased independence, improved wellbeing, greater choice and control, and new opportunities for service innovation.
Next we will hear from Jo Scammell from Community Integrated Care, who will be demonstrating her Care Worker in Your Pocket and discussing why this was developed and the positive outcomes it has brought about.
The meeting will conclude with a facilitated discussion, giving members the opportunity to reflect on what they have learned, share experiences from their own organisations, and consider how Technology Enabled Care could influence future service models and improve outcomes for the people they support.
Whether your organisation is at the start of its Technology Enabled Care journey or looking to build on existing expertise, this session will provide valuable insight, practical learning and opportunities to connect with peers facing similar opportunities and challenges.
