Launch event of project seeking to embed neurodiversity inclusive approaches for individuals on the cusp of or involved in the criminal justice system where there is a concern that there may be an additional neurodevelopmental need.
The Police and Crime Commissioner, in collaboration with the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership, has commissioned VODG member Making Space and Sinclair Strong Consultants to support a local approach to embedding neurodiversity inclusive approaches for individuals on the cusp of or involved in the criminal justice system where there is a concern that there may be an additional neurodevelopmental need – be that as a victim, perpetrator, witness, or defendant.
The project adopts a holistic, whole system approach to supporting professionals, individuals, families, and entire communities, through the development of a bespoke suite of strengths-based resources which build capacity amongst organisations and individuals with lived experience to identify and address neurodevelopmental need.
Hundreds of resources have been developed and the team at Making Space is incredibly excited to present an overview of the project and showcase the resources and learning to date at the project launch event on Friday 19 September, 9.30 – 12.00 at The Cotton Exchange, Bixteth Street, Liverpool, L3 9LQ
This will be the first of two events and will include presentations from key speakers including the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Jeanie Bell, Jack Fitzpatrick on his PhD on 21st Century Policing, and Gemma Stanton on her new SPOC role for Neurodivergent People on Probation, as well as opportunities for networking.
For more information and to book a place at the event, please contact Making Space.
