VODG seeks to diversify its board with new trustees

VODG is seeking to appoint two new trustees to its Board to help lead in the development of the organisation as it enters an exciting new phase of growth.

In addition, to help achieve our commitment to enhancing diversity of the VODG Board, we are keen to appoint individuals who will help us achieve a more balanced and representative board.

Whilst the existing VODG Board comprises chief executives of member organisations, in order to support our ambition to fully realise the huge potential for representation we are also inviting applications from senior tiers within member organisations.

We are also actively seeking applications from those whose individual life experience will enrich perspectives and increase the effectiveness of VODG’s work.

Steve Scown, VODG Chair, said: “This is an exciting time to join the VODG Board as the organisation embarks on a new chapter of growth, pursuing an ambitious mission as well as embody organisational values around equality, diversity and inclusion.

“We all know equality and diversity are key principles that guide our organisations, including VODG itself. Every organisation, particularly not-for-profits, benefits from a board of trustees who bring a diverse blend of skills, perspectives and life experiences.

“Our commitment to attracting the highest calibre of candidates to this role is absolute. The value of the work could not make it otherwise. But we are powerfully aware that talent comes in many guises and is often found beyond the areas we’ve traditionally reached.

“So, we’re actively seeking applications from those whose individual life experience – including disability, educational attainment, diversity of gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnicity – will enrich perspectives and increase the effectiveness of our work.”

Applications are now open and more information can be found here.A monitoring form, available here, should also accompany applications.Read about our values and beliefs.
