We are the national disability charity of the year, authors of the world’s first large study of the health of Deaf people, home of the world’s biggest collection of health videos in sign language.The Deaf Health Charity SignHealth, works across the country, trying to get Deaf people the same access to healthcare that hearing people have.
This website is for Deaf people who need information or support, Professionals who need to know more about our services, and hearing people who want to learn more about Deafness and health.
Our Sick Of It report has shown that Deaf people tend to have worse health than people who can hear. That’s because getting access to help and information is hard when you use sign language as your main means of communication.
SignHealth campaigns to improve healthcare for Deaf people. We also provide sign language services including online translation, supported living and mental health therapies.
