VODG Quality and Safeguarding Network Meeting | September 2026

Join colleagues from VODG member organisations for our next Quality and Safeguarding Network meeting, bringing together sector leaders to explore some of the most pressing challenges facing social care providers.

This session will provide expert insight, practical guidance and opportunities for peer learning on regulatory preparedness, digital safeguarding and delivering high-quality support that enables people to live safe, fulfilling lives.

We'll begin with a session on Regulatory Readiness: Preparing for and Responding to Inspections, Enforcement Activity and Serious Incidents, exploring how organisations can navigate regulatory scrutiny with confidence. The discussion will cover preparation for inspections, responding to enforcement activity and managing serious incidents, including the often complex decisions around reporting matters to the Charity Commission.

We will then hear from Declan Sammin, Engagement Officer at Prevent, who will lead a session on Keeping People Safe Online: Prevention, Empowerment and Practice. As online risks continue to evolve, this session will examine approaches to preventing online grooming and radicalisation. The discussion will consider how services can balance safeguarding responsibilities with rights, choice and independence, including practical issues relating to the Mental Capacity Act and the use of personal devices.

The meeting will also include facilitated breakout discussions on The Difference Good Support Makes, providing an opportunity for members to reflect on how the voices and experiences of supported people can inform quality improvement, safeguarding practice and organisational culture.

Book your place to join the discussion and strengthen your organisation's approach to quality, safeguarding and regulatory readiness.
