About the Event
For many disability and social care organisations, investments form an important part of long-term financial sustainability. Yet trustees and leaders often have limited opportunities to build confidence in investment governance and decision-making.
Facilitated by CCLA, this interactive Learning Lab will provide an accessible introduction to key investment concepts and the responsibilities of trustees, boards and executive teams. Through a short expert-led presentation and facilitated peer discussion, participants will have the opportunity to explore real-world challenges, share experiences and discuss practical considerations with colleagues from across the sector.
The session will consider how organisations approach investment decisions, balance risk and return, align investments with organisational values, and support long-term organisational resilience.

What is a Learning Lab?
The VODG Learning Lab is an interactive peer-learning format that combines expert insight with facilitated discussion. Each session begins with a short presentation from a subject matter expert, followed by structured breakout discussions where participants can share experiences, explore challenges and opportunities, and learn from peers facing similar issues.
The session concludes with a plenary discussion, bringing together key insights, reflections and practical takeaways.
Unlike a traditional webinar, Learning Labs are designed to encourage participation, discussion and shared learning.
