Join fellow learning and development leaders from VODG member organisations for our next Learning and Development Network meeting, bringing together sector experts and peers to explore key workforce development priorities across social care.
The meeting will include a presentation from Cheryle Cox, National Workforce Capability Lead at Skills for Care, who will provide an overview of the new Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate qualification, including why it was developed, how it differs from the Care Certificate standards, the benefits for providers and staff, and available funding and access routes.
We'll also hear a short presentation from Katie Christmas and Lauren Dyer from the Oliver McGowan Project at Active Prospects and The Care Talent Collective on co-production in learning design, with a particular focus on involving people who draw on support as trainers and educators. The session will explore the benefits of lived experience-led learning, practical approaches to meaningful involvement, and lessons learned from delivering co-produced training. Following the presentation, members will take part in facilitated breakout discussions to share their own experiences, discuss opportunities and challenges, and exchange ideas for embedding co-production within learning and development programmes.
The session will conclude with an update from Sarah Woodhouse, Director of Policy and Public Affairs at VODG, on developments relating to the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training, together with an opportunity for members to shape future network topics and priorities.
