Winter Communications Toolkit

The UK Health Security Agency has published its winter toolkit for stakeholders, aiming to help with messages to protect people’s health this winter.

10 Jan 2025

Dear colleague,

As you will know, each winter, the health service experiences increased pressure due to the circulation of seasonal viruses that can make people very unwell. This winter, there is potential for infectious diseases such as COVID-19, flu, RSV and norovirus to co-circulate, with flu already circulating at high levels. We can also anticipate that there may be further weather events which could impact people’s health and wellbeing, such as cold spells and flooding.

Health security hazards like these require a coordinated response across the public health system to ensure the health of the nation is secure and protected.

As such, we have today published our winter communications toolkit for stakeholders. It aims to support stakeholders with messages to help protect people’s health this winter. It contains background information, health and behaviour advice, social media assets and suggested copy, links to data and other useful information. Please do share with your networks or anyone else who may find it useful.

If you have any questions about this toolkit or our wider communications this winter, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes,

UKHSA External Affairs Team
