The King's Fund | Delayed Discharges cost NHS £2.7bn

The financial cost of delayed discharges has risen to £2.7bn in 2025/26, up 7.5% in just one-year, new King's Fund analysis has found. In May, the number of instances of corridor care was close to 70,000.
