State of the Social Sector Survey

Do not miss the chance to have your say, urges VODG

The much-anticipated State of the Social Sector has been launched, enabling you to have a say on the key challenges and pressures affecting your social organisation.

With the cost-of-living crisis affecting VODG member organisations and the people they support, it has never been more important to ensure that we build that ‘big picture’ of what is happening across the membership, as well as ensuring the detail around the everyday challenges for your organisation is recorded and used in VODG’s advocacy on behalf of our members.

Rhidian Hughes, Chief Executive, VODG, said:

We are getting consistent feedback from VODG members about the many challenges facing organisations supporting disabled people as a result of the cost-of-living crisis. We know that increased costs are greatly impacting the people and services who support disabled people and their families. Having your say in this survey will make a big difference in ensuring that asks to Government are evidence-based and targeted at where the support is needed the most.

Nicole Sykes, Director of Policy and Communications at Pro Bono Economics, added:

This is a critical time for charities, community groups and voluntary organisations as the cost-of-living crisis continues. But without great data to show what’s happening in the sector, it’s very difficult to make the case for additional support, or to work out where that support should be focused. Understanding the pressures that disability charities are facing is essential. Each organisation which fills this survey out helps us to fill in the picture of what’s happening to funding, staff and volunteers, demand and costs – and each answer is vital.
