Following the airing of BBC Panorama’s programme on 18 December, SCIE, who advised the programme on safeguarding practice, called for safer and supportive recruitment practices for all staff, overseas and at home, and for care homes to review their safeguarding practice on a regular basis. Chief Executive Kathryn Smith urged care homes to seek safeguarding help when they need – SCIE offers help to any care home or provider requiring support to improve in this area.
