In response to the government’s announcement today of £150 cost of living payments being paid to disabled people, Dr Rhidian Hughes, Chief Executive of VODG says:
‘We know that disabled people have been disproportionately affected by cost-of-living increases. This payment will be of some immediate help but is nowhere near what’s needed to help address the crisis many people face.
The government must commit to funding social care properly for the long-term.’
