NICs

Today (19 March) the National Insurance Contributions Bill returns to the House of Commons. VODG and our members have done a great deal of work on ENICs since the Autumn Budget including writing to MPs and Peers, encouraging people accessing support and their families to share their concerns and gaining press coverage at different points along the Bill’s journey.

Today MPs decide whether charities providing health and care support are given an exemption from the proposed increase, coming into effect in April. Unfortunately, it is unlikely the amendment by Baroness Barker to grant an exemption will go through.

We will continue to monitor the impact of ENICs on the support members provide so do stay in touch on this.
