VODG Chief Executive Dr Rhidian Hughes joined a Ministerial meeting with Social Care Minister Stephen Kinnock MP and Kate Dearden MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department for Business and Trade, along with union representatives and other leaders from across the care and support sector to discuss the opportunities and issues to overcome in effective implementation of the Adult Social Care Fair Pay Agreement.
There is reasl desire to see care workers who support millions of disabled people every day better paid and rewarded. For organisations that are commissioned to deliver these services, we need government to adequately fund the system and reframe the way services are commissioned.
