Major Conditions Strategy | Call for Evidence

DHSC seeking support for call for evidence and responses to public survey on Major Conditions Strategy.

I’m reaching out from the External Affairs team at DHSC with a request related to the Major Conditions Strategy announcement. With less than two weeks to go (closes on Tuesday 27 June), we would value your support to promote the call for evidence and increase responses to the public survey. The insights and contributions from our valued stakeholders and your networks is crucial to ensuring the success of this strategy and improving healthcare outcomes for millions of individuals.

We would be very grateful for your support to encourage participation on your channels and through your networks. I have included a series of suggestions below for how you can help, we are particularly interested in reaching diverse communities to ensure that the views and experiences of people across the country is reflected in the strategy.

How you can help?
  • Case Studies: Identify someone with lived experience of one or more of the major conditions (albeit as a clinician, patient, care giver or expert) to share their experiences and encourage others to respond to the Call for Evidence. Case study content developed can be in written form for press and/or short videos for social media. With huge thanks to colleagues at Asthma and Lung UK for their support please see this brilliant recent example here: https://twitter.com/DHSCgovuk/status/1667494319354265604?s=20
  • Social Media: Utilise your organisation's social media platforms to share relevant content and updates about the Major Conditions Strategy included in the toolkit attached. This can include informational posts, sharing assets and/or links to the call for evidence.
  • Website Promotion: Feature Major Conditions Strategy communications prominently on your website. This could include a dedicated page or section where visitors can access the information easily. Please see the toolkit attached which includes further information, suggested copy and FAQs for your website.
  • Newsletters and Emails: Include information about the Major Conditions Strategy and the call for evidence in your newsletters and email communications. Direct your subscribers to the relevant resources and encourage them to respond to the call for evidence and promote the consultation to their own networks.

If you are able to amplify, it would be great if you could please keep us updated on what activity you are able to take forward and what your audience reach would be, i.e. number of recipients of a weekly bulletin.

Thank you so much for your support, we want to ensure that the call for evidence reaches a wider audience and allows for a diverse range of perspectives and insights to be heard. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you for continued support.
