Local Government at its ‘Financially Weakest’, warns LGA ahead of Spring Statement

Ahead of the Spring Statement the LGA wrote to the Chancellor expressing concern over the sector’s capacity to cope over the coming years, with 35 councils granted exceptional financial support (EFS) to set balanced general fund budgets for 2026/27.
