The Act will bring forward broad changes to employee rights, union access and the first adult social care fair pay agreement.
The Employment Rights Act has received Royal Assent. The Act confirms new rights including day one paternity leave and parental leave, statutory sick pay, protections for pregnant workers, increased protection from unfair dismissal, an end to exploitative zero hours contracts, and a new right to bereavement leave.
The Fair Pay Agreement for Adult Social Care is also part of the Employment Rights Act, details of which are currently out for consultation.
The full list of reforms to be introduced can be found here.
Work is ongoing to work out the detail of how reforms will be implemented, with a gradual roadmap over the next two years.
