VODG Policy and Public Affairs Professional Network Meeting | September 2026

Join us for a policy update, small group discussions on key topics, and resource sharing.

Join colleagues from across VODG membership for the latest meeting of the Policy and Public Affairs Professional Network, bringing together those leading policy, influencing and public affairs activity within social care charities.

This session will provide an opportunity to hear the latest updates on key policy developments, discuss the implications of the emerging Health Bill, and explore how organisations can effectively engage with the new Prime Minister and government priorities.

Our first speaker is Tim Coolican, Partner at Anthony Collins, who will provide an overview of the Health Bill and its key provisions, the Bill's progress through Parliament and expected next steps, including implications for providers supporting people with learning disabilities and key developments, risks or "watch points" that organisations should be aware of as the legislation progresses.

Next we are delighted to welcome Mia Terra St. Hill, Political Consultant at Dods, who will share insights into the government's agenda, political priorities and opportunities for effective engagement. Members will also share intelligence and key messages ahead of Labour Party Conference, helping to shape collective influencing activity across the sector.

The meeting will include a VODG policy update, discussion of the political landscape, and dedicated time to identify future priorities and plan upcoming policy and influencing activity.

Whether you are tracking legislative developments, planning stakeholder engagement, or preparing for the party conference season, this network offers a valuable opportunity to stay informed, share intelligence and connect with peers facing similar challenges.
