Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quality & Compliance Manager to lead our regulatory compliance, governance, and quality assurance functions. This pivotal role ensures our services meet CQC standards and internal policies, supporting our journey toward achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating.
This is a non-operational, advisory role. You will not be involved in direct care delivery but will hold Registered Managers and teams accountable through audits, reporting, and continuous monitoring. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a passion for driving quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, Fundamental Standards, and relevant legislation.
- Develop and maintain a structured audit schedule across all care domains.
- Monitor audit outcomes, safeguarding incidents, complaints, and action plans.
- Act as the organisation’s GDPR lead, ensuring policies are implemented, risk assessments are conducted, and staff are trained.
- Stay up to date with regulatory changes and advise leadership accordingly.
Policy & Procedure Management
- Oversee implementation and use of policy software (e.g., QCS).
- Ensure policies are current, GDPR-compliant, accessible, and understood.
- Monitor adherence and escalate non-compliance where necessary.
Reporting & Quality Improvement
- Produce monthly KPI dashboards, compliance reports, and trend analyses.
- Identify patterns, emerging risks, and areas for improvement.
- Support Registered Managers in developing and monitoring improvement plans.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Audit & Inspection Readiness
- Collaborate with Registered Managers to prepare for CQC inspections and external audits.
- Ensure documentation and processes are inspection-ready.
- Advise on remedial actions for identified gaps.
Advisory & Partnership Working
- Provide expert guidance to Registered Managers on compliance matters.
- Escalate critical issues to the Senior Management Team.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, HR, and other stakeholders on business-critical planning, including business continuity and emergency planning.
Person Specification
Essential
- Relevant qualification in health/social care, governance, or compliance.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quality, governance, or compliance role within health or social care.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and audit processes.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Proactive in identifying and mitigating compliance risks.
- Adaptable to regulatory changes and committed to continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of GDPR regulations.
- Experience leading cross-functional compliance initiatives.
- Proficiency in producing KPI dashboards and trend reports.
- Experience in residential or multi-service care settings.
