VODG Housing Directors' Network Meeting | March 2026

We’ll begin the morning with a welcome from Kerry Hamilton, Director of Membership and Operations at VODG, followed by a brief overview of the programme from our Housing Directors’ Network Co‑Chair.

Our first speaker, Liz Newell (Partner at MHA), will walk us through the latest FRS 102 changes and updates to the Housing SORP, highlighting the key shifts that senior leaders need to understand—and what they mean for future planning, governance, and financial resilience.

Next, John Mackintosh (Consultant at GreenGoals) will explore the growing influence of ESG and sustainability reporting, including how the Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS) is evolving and the implications for funding access, transparency, and long‑term organisational credibility.

We’ll then turn to a concise legal and regulatory update from Emma Hardman (Anthony Collins), offering practical insight into the pressures and compliance expectations shaping the current social housing landscape.

Following this, Sarah Woodhouse, VODG’s Director of Policy and Influencing, will provide an overview of VODG’s current housing‑related activity—highlighting wider sector trends, policy movements, and the strategic priorities emerging across the membership.

Before we close, the Network Co‑Chairs will invite attendees to feed into future meeting topics, ensuring the refreshed network remains responsive, relevant, and member‑led. The session will then conclude with final reflections from Kerry Hamilton.

This programme has been shaped to give housing leaders a clear, high‑level understanding of the financial, regulatory, strategic, and sustainability themes influencing the year ahead—while offering space to connect, share and shape the Network’s direction as we move into 2026.
