VODG seeks two new trustees for its Board

VODG is seeking to appoint two new trustees to its Board to help lead in the development of the organisation as we continue to grow and increase our influence externally.

To help achieve our ambitious strategic vision, we are particularly seeking candidates with expertise in finance and audit and policy and influencing. In 2020, VODG successfully recruited trustees to help enhance diversity among the Board and we remain committed to seeking applications from those whose individual life experience will enrich perspectives and increase the effectiveness of VODG’s work.

In order to support our ambition to fully realise the huge potential for representation we are also inviting applications from senior tiers within member organisations.

Tim Cooper, VODG Chair, said: “VODG plays a tremendous role in supporting disability providers, even more so over the last year, helping the sector to navigate some tricky times. The valuable work we do to foster collaboration between members is critical, as is our growing influence through our policy and public affairs activities, and wider project work that supports the sector to improve.

“We have two vacancies on our board, both of which offer exciting opportunities for the right candidate to support the wider sector within which their organisation works.

“Last year we successfully worked to secure an explicitly diverse shortlist for our board vacancies. We remain committed to actively seeking applications from those whose individual life experience – including disability, educational attainment, diversity of gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnicity – will enrich perspectives and increase the effectiveness of our work. We are particularly focused on bringing more disabled people onto our board for this recruitment round, and for the organisations for which they work to reflect the breadth of our membership.”
