New report calls for greater engagement between STPs and social care providers

The Care Provider Alliance (CPA), of which VODG is an active member, is calling for greater engagement between Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and the independent and voluntary adult social care sector. In a new report the CPA is making practical suggestions and is asking the 44 STPs to review their engagement with the independent and voluntary adult social care sector. STPs are working across England to transform the health and care system. However despite the size and vital importance of the independent and voluntary social care sector the engagement of STPs remains under developed.

The CPA is calling on each STP to review its engagement with adult social care providers and, by March 2018, to share information on its website, or elsewhere, about how it is improving relationships with the sector. The CPA is also calling on the providers of adult social care services to take time to understand the role of STPs, and to be ready to engage positively and openly on behalf of the sector.

Read the report on the CPA website. A more detailed background paper can be downloaded from the same page. Providers willing to be involved in future work on this topic are invited to contact [email protected].
