Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities

We believe that people with learning disabilities should have the same rights and choices as everyone else in society.

We work with:

  • people with learning disabilities
  • families
  • carers
  • local authorities
  • service providers.

The Foundation strives to fight stigma and discrimination, improve policies and services, and give people with learning disabilities and their families the information and support they need to lead fuller, more independent lives through a wide range of research and development projects. Prevention is at the heart of what we do, because the best way to deal with a crisis is to prevent it from happening in the first place.

We inform and influence the development of evidence-based practice and influence policy at the national and local government level. This work is informed by our long history of working directly with people with a learning disability.
