VODG HR Directors' Professional Network Meeting | Face-to-face Event

The meeting will focus on two main topics that we know are important to members: artificial intelligence, and the sponsorship of overseas workers.

The next meeting of the HR Directors' professional network will be held on Monday 18 September 2023, 10.00 - 15.00, and we are delighted to invite members to the London offices of Trowers & Hamilins to take part in this exciting event.

The meeting will focus on two main topics that we know are important to members: artificial intelligence, and the sponsorship of overseas workers.

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome to the meeting an expert in the emerging field of artificial intelligence, Grace Corby, a junior barrister at Cloisters working with the new TUC taskforce on artificial intelligence in the workplace. Grace will speak about the legal definitions of AI, current and forthcoming legislation and her work with the TUC.

Next we will hear from Emma Burrows of Trowers & Hamlins who will continue the theme of AI by sharing examples of AI and discrimination, and what Trowers & Hamlins and clients are considering. She will end with practical tips on what members should be doing now.

The morning session will end with a group discussion on AI, followed by a complimentary lunch and networking. In the afternoon the focus will shift to the sponsorship of overseas workers when we will be joined by Samantha Smith, HR Director at Dimensions UK and Neil Wheeler, Director of Halow Project, who will be presenting case studies, prior to a group discussion on members' experience to date.
