BATIAS Independent Advocacy Service

BATIAS was set up in 1992 to help people with learning disabilities who were moving from large hospital facilities into their local communities.

BATIAS now provides advocacy to people with learning disabilities and also supports young people and adults with physical and sensory impairments, complex needs and behaviours that challenge.

BATIAS provides a variety of advocacy support which empowers our clients to secure their rights, and obtain services.

BATIAS' aim is for our clients to be able to make positive, informed choices about their lives.

BATIAS provides Formal Advocacy, and Self Advocacy groups in South Essex, this includes Southend and Thurrock.
